Children First Foundation

Who We Are

The Children First Foundation is dedicated to helping Arizona’s underprivileged and homeless children access a quality education. Since 2012, the Children First Foundation has provided stability and hope for over 5,000 impoverished children, many of which are homeless.

Imagine being a child who strongly desires to do well in school, live a happy and healthy life, go to college, and become a contributing member of society. Now imagine trying to accomplish these basic building blocks of life while dealing each day with homelessness, poverty and basic necessities like clothing and food.

about us background

The Children First Foundation’s primary focus is bridging the gap in funding for the Children First Leadership Academy – a free public charter school that fosters success for its students through instilling confidence and eliminating the obstacles that stand in the way of proper education. All of the students served live at or below the poverty line. In any given year as many as seventy-five percents of the students at the Children First Leadership Academy are homeless. The Children First Foundation provides support, stability, and hope for children facing complex challenges by breaking down the barriers to education.

The Children First Foundation is committed to helping children succeed through education, but we need your help to get there.

We need your help and support

When families have limited resources, children often lack access to appropriate education programs. According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s latest report, seventy percent of Arizona fourth graders were not proficient in reading and sixty-six percent of eighth graders were not proficient in math. The report also stated one in four Arizona children live in poverty.

The Children First Foundation is committed to improving these numbers through its holistic approach of engaging students as critical thinkers while providing transportation, scholarships and a variety of activities and access to basic necessities. These resources help to instill hope, foster strength, and facilitate self-determination for its students.

Children First Academy works to provide the necessities, care, and attention that so many homeless and low socioeconomic children lack.
